Red RoseĀ® is an established tea brand in business since 1890. Developing designs for a brand with a long history and identity is a challenge. The direction was to keep elements of the existing identity but update them for a modern audience. The logo rose illustration was kept but simplified and added to the text, replacing the O in rose. Also, with the logo, a clean and simple typeface was used with a large, swooping descender on the R in the word red. The project included an additional challenge to develop packaging for a new brand product. Tea biscuits were selected as the new product. The packaging is cylinder-shaped for a more modern feel and a better vehicle to hold the circle-shaped tea biscuits. Additionally, updated tea packaging was created. The new package designs include updated typography and colorful illustrations.
